SAS has over 14 years of experience in the Industrial Rope Access industry with our employees having experience on a wide range of contracts all of over Australia. Our team has experience in commercial contracts in metropolitan & regional cities around the country, conducted rope access operations in the iron ore, metalliferous, coal, oil & gas, alumina & other areas of the heavy resources sector. SAS strictly use and follow the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) IRATA Code of Practice (ICOP), as well as complying to all current Australian Standards (AS) & ISO’s to provide clients with the knowledge that all work that is being conducted by SAS is to the highest working at height standards possible worldwide. 

SAS is locally owned & operated in Townsville by Steve Garrard. A Townsville local for over 20 years, a veteran & also SAS’s IRATA Level 3-Rope Access Supervisor. Steve has in-excess of 14 years & over 5500 logged hours in rope access. Steve’s rope access background started in 2009 in the commercial sector with various high-pressure cleaning, painting & maintenance contracts not just within the Brisbane Metro area but all the way up the Queensland coast. Throughout his time in the commercial sector Steve attained his trade licence as a qualified Painter Decorator. Soon after, Steve then shifted his attention across to the industrial sector of rope access in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). With now over 10 years industrial experience, he is not just limited to the NDT inspection field. Steve also has experience in managing large scale marine paint application & maintenance projects for some of Australia’s largest on & offshore resource production & maintenance providers, both nationally & internationally. Steve’s skills & knowledge of the industry both commercially & industrially, gives him the advantage over other companies within the NQ region. This provides SAS with the world class, industry leading safety & experience that only an IRATA Level 3 can bring to site, while rope access operations are underway.
